Both the Church and civil authorities appreciated the personality and works of Anne Marie all over the world. The Lt. Governor of Pondicherry with the counsel of the then Apostolic Vicar of Pondicherry Rev.Mgr. Bonnard sought the service of Anne Marie and thus the congregation took its roots in the soil of India in Pondicherry in 1827 and in Karaikal 1844.
